A project is stuck. A partnership is strained. A business needs to change hands. An opportunity needs to be explored.
These situations often stall for lack of time or a clear mandate. Opportunities cool off. Positions harden.
I’m most useful when I can clarify what matters and define the next move.
A negotiation, partnership, project or decision has stopped moving, and the real blockage isn’t obvious.
I clarify what’s in the way and help create the next move.
A new market, acquisition, partnership, source of capital or idea needs to be explored, but nobody has the bandwidth to take it on.
I can explore it quietly, without creating unnecessary noise inside the organization, and bring back concrete options.
The opportunity may already be there, but the capital, structure, relationship, information, the right message or person is missing.
I find the missing piece and help turn it into something actionable.
-Miyamoto Musashi

I’ve mostly learned by building my own things. I started and sold a construction company, built a real-estate business, studied martial arts in China before teaching them, launched a podcast studio with a partner, and developed my own projects in technology and media.
Moving between very different worlds taught me to recognize patterns across disciplines. The questions are often surprisingly similar: What is actually happening? What is getting in the way? Where is the leverage? What's the message? Who needs to be involved?
My working thesis is simple: value is often already there. The opportunity is finding the structure, relationship or catalyst that unlocks it.
You tell me what is happening, what you want, and where things are stuck.
We get clear on the real problem, the desired outcome and what needs to be understood or communicated for the situation to move.
We agree on the strategy, my role, the level of autonomy I need and the resources available.
Depending on the situation, I may work on a fixed fee, retainer, success-based component or, selectively, participate directly in the opportunity.
I learn what I need to learn, make calls, meet people, test assumptions, negotiate, manage difficult conversations, open doors and look for leverage.
The goal is movement: a decision, an agreement, a new relationship, a workable structure or a clear next step.
I’m not a lawyer, accountant, investment adviser or licensed broker. When specialist expertise is needed, I bring in the right professionals and keep the broader mandate moving.
